good point..... recessed like that you should never get any glare. Can two or three people see it at the same time without being in each other's laps?

So on the bench seat/bed... with cushions being DOT approved w/set belts.. . As mentioned on Facebook am concerned with safety of seats with a cushion that can slide. What's your thoughts on that?

Ps.. sorry for other name there causing confusion.

Yes they are from a RV dealer designed for a class A. To add belts you need a seat belt bar to the body.. I don't like lap belts so im working on shoulder belt setup.. Im right down the road if you ever want to meet up

You mentioned thinking putting solar on roof. been thinking that too.

with the new large watt single panels you could easy get 1000w or more.

I'm thinking bat wings.

. you buy less solar panels by maxing out sun use. Most RVers going for max energy do it by filling whole roof to "accommodate for losses". With wings you reduce the losses instead. You can always add more on roof later.
. with roof only you HAVE to park in hot sun for max. energy value.
. you'r options of tilting to sun are limited cause a full roof of them.... when you tilt them... one will shade the other thusly making things worse.... unless it is all one rack and you tilt all of them at once.... do-able
. with Bat Wings (awnings?) on both sides you can tilt toward sun in 4 directions and they willl NOT shade each other. The door side your limited to a wing that does not go atop the entry door.
. With bat wings you create your own shade
. With bat wings you expose your panels to little more damage if you take her off road... so that is something that might negate my going that route. Usually the most clear part of the trail is overhead.. then again limbs are thicker overhead sometimes too. ??

others have used heavy drawer slides and slid a second set out from under the main roof set. can't tilt though... due to complexity and in one direction one will get shaded.

I assume by bat-wings you are folding off the roof to hang over the sides like an awning..? I think i will keep it simple.. No moving parts, no moving wiring or pinch points.. Just mount them to the roof. Keep it simple. remember this is not an over landing rig as its only 2wd currently. and she is low profile as can be 9 ft 3. K I S S make life easy :)

almost..... thinking hinged at top and stored hanging on sides.... then flipped up and angle to sun.
