Here is my Ambo, ten years in the making. I have driven over a 100k miles and spent hundreds of nights living in the Ambo.

Love it, and great to see a ambo in full rv use!

Wondering why did you go with the bigger truck and running gear?

There were a few factors that lead to the new chassis.

-insurance: way cheaper, less than half!

-the old frame was rusty and just plain worn out after a hard life.

-registration and title: now it is just a utility box truck

Bigger truck would come with a bigger cab +, easier engine access +, & more bulletproof drivetrain. How's the ride quality compared to the E series? Fuel economy?

On the plus side the tow capacity must be crazy

It is a lot bigger, but handles better. It is a pleasure to drive. It is a bit louder, need to insulate better. The economy is pretty much the same, I get about 11 to 14 mpg depending on how I drive. It can tow pretty much anything I will ever own.

Hope to have many more crazy adventures with it!

Glad to hear it's working for you. I'm surprised it handles better... the larger trucks I've driven all rode like tanks.

Well after a 300 mile weekend ambo trip, happy to say the Atwood furnace was money well spent! 23 degrees outside, 70 inside! Will refill the tank to see how much it actually used, but it still feels pretty heavy!
