My girlfriend and I recently purchased our third 7.3L diesel in the form of an ambulance with the intention of building it out as a commercial grade RV.
We're young (25) but I'm well tooled and have some modest skills so I'm looking forward to cataloging the build here and discussing the process with all you guys!
As I write this we both work full time plus some at the nearby medical center and our time for this project is limited to the evening hours and weekends but were making steady progress.
Fortunately I have a master carpenter father to give me a hand here and there and whom I can keep up at night on the phone with my brainstorming.
Look forward to any input!
How we bought it!
Gut it!

Wow! You guys went balls-2-wall stripping that thing. I will look forward to seeing how it builds out.

Yes sirs! I didn't care for any of the original build out on the interior. Much to institutional for our tastes. We're going to be doing a mostly cedar build out with very primitive (but durable) design features. After reading another thread discussing the frustrations of partial conversions we opted for a clean slate prior to the new build out.

Good for you, keep it up!
Believe it or not we hooked the batteries back up and started it up, everything we intended to still works! Stripped everything down to essentially just van functions; tail/turn/brake/running/reverse.
Almost down to a clean slate to start building off of.
