Ambo has been sitting spring summer and fall without being run. Finally started working on it and decided to start it up. Would not start and got a "water in fuel" indicator on the dash. Being new to the 7.3l and truck diesels in general, that was a new one on me. Fortunately, the owners manual described how to rectify the problem. The fuel filter container box also acts as a fuel-water seperator.
Operate a lever and drain the water from the bottom of the fuel bowl.
Scratched my head a bit because the manual was not that clear how to do it. The only you-tube videos were for pickup trucks which use a different control than vans. The fuel filter itself is a bear to locate on a van. Going to be fun replacing it.
I eventually figured it out, drained it into a bucket, and it started right up.
What a relief.
