How many miles?

So... I'm curious... I got my rig (diesel) with 129k miles on it. For all the $$ I've invested, I joke that I need to get 1,000,000 out of it to break even. And I WANT it to last a long time. :) What miles are you putting on your rig? How many are you wanting to get out of your rig? Over what period...

Re: Pics to Prove it

Thanks Coach! Got it! Lol! Yes! KISS = no black water, a 2-tank porta-potty, NOT pulling out all the electrical, NOT pulling out all the storage, multi purpose (daily driver, RV, mobile office, toy hauler), propane heat, easy to drive and set up for different uses, etc. I also needed a bed set up I ...

Re: Pics to Prove it

Umm... Color me clueless. "KISS" conversion?

By the way, 4" PVC pipe makes for very sturdy (and easily stored) legs for the bed. Two for twin and 6 for king size.

Pics to Prove it

I've heard that if there aren't any pics then it didn't happen. Thank you for YouTube Pro Tint Ambo/RV conversation for all the great ideas! I like it simple, nothing fancy for this gal - except the convection microwave. It has to be quite manageable for me when I travel alone. We spent Feb, M...

Re: Insurance Coverage

On my up-teenth try, I went through Progressive with the VIN as a Ford E350 Super Duty Cargo Van. It's insured as a commercial vehicle. They even added value for the "built in" storage. I did NOT mention the ambo part as that's how I got to "up-teenth."

Re: Shore power

Hi There - These guys helped me wade through my own electrical situation last fall. From my experience with my rig, the external plug is where the shore power goes in. From the prong set up, it looks to me like a 15 amp connection. I'm guessing the two switches are circuit breakers. My rig has one n...

Re: Insurance Questions

I went with Erie Insurance as they did not question my "super duty cargo van" VIN. When I used the word "ambulance" with the first three companies they couldn't slam the door fast enough. Here in NC, after converting, the title and registration can be changed to RV. Then it can b...

Re: Surge Protector Amperage?

Hi John - My rig is wired for 20 amps so I'll stick with that. Thanks for the info!

Surge Protector Amperage?

Hey All - Before I take this rig out too far, I want to make sure I protect what I have. Part of that is using the proper extension cord, adapter, and surge protection. So my box has a 20 amp outlet/circuit for which I bought a heavy duty (and heavy!) 20 amp extension cord. It came with an adapter (...

Re: Love my new ambo!

Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy New Year all! I want to thank the folks who offered advise and a listening ear. We finally figured out the shore power. My battery charger was ka-poot and one AGM battery had a dead cell. So replaced the charger and battery and we're good to go. Also found out that...
