DIY Awning/Canopy

Anyone attempted a DIY build of the canopy/awning? This thread has be intrigued. I wanna attempt this down the line. I'd assume we would possible need longer legs for our height, but we could make it work. https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/how-to-build-a-quality-awning-for-less-than-100...

Re: Bed cushion foam

Nice. Slept on it yet? I still gotta build my bed. In meantime used 1.5" toppers and it did ok, but definitely felt hard and stiff quick.

Re: Portable Kitchen

I went simple with a mini propane tank with burner on top. It was easy for me to want to get a big burner system and all that, but I gave it a shot and the single burner was great for the girlfriend and I. Stored the little tank underneath the bench (which has a vent for outdoors). From what I've re...

Re: From Army Abmo to CSI to RV

sweeeet..... glad you got a test run with enjoyment envolved. As to turn signals.... your missing a diode thingamababy. With some flasher signal systems you must have that added piece for LED's to work. Often now they sell the replacement bulb with a piggy back line to add the thingamabobber inline...

Great deal on panels

HomeDepot has these for $100 a pop. Usually $140. I just bought 3, even though I'm not sure when I'm gonna install.

Re: From Army Abmo to CSI to RV

Had the maiden voyage last week. There is something so amazing to be said about being able to drive until tired, pull into a rest stop, turn off the ignition, walk into the back and go to sleep. No more hotel check-ins, moving luggage, getting settled, sleeping for 5 hours before you are kicked out....

Re: From Army Abmo to CSI to RV

Floor is in! Not a bad install. Reinstalled old aluminum trim and it looks very nice. Friend also hooked up a rearview mirror with LCD hooked up to backup camera. Backup camera is good quality for $20 off Amazon except it has bright lights that are constantly on. I have it zip tied under the body, r...

Re: Interior LED Lighting

I redid all my interior and exterior to LED. 1157 and 1156 were what all my interior(1157) and cabinet doors were (1156). My teardrop amber roof running lights were essentially short versions of 1156. Very easy to change and mod out anywhere. On ebay I even found 1157 for the interior that are red/b...

Re: Ambo Box Entry Stairs

Sadly that topic doesnt exist on expedition portal. My buddy installed this for me the other day. amazon.com/gp/product/B001U7HXUW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For $50, it is made in USA too. Only had 2 of 4 bolts in to begin but it is extremely solid. He had to modify last two bo...

Re: From Army Abmo to CSI to RV

can you show mounting of light of the scene light retrofit you did? I'll get one when I do the other side. Past few days I have been working on the floor. Underneath this carpet (from its CSI days I assume) was the original roll of rubber/linoleum complete with brackets for the stretcher mount. Ori...
