Re: Air Conditioning Options

It is a considerable expense at around $700 for a power saver rooftop unit but it was well worth it for the space and efficiency we gained over the portable unit. The hoses of the portable unit take up a lot of room and are only somewhat flexible so trying to route them in a clean and space consciou...

This was the unit I tried. https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-MF08CESWW-Portable-Conditioner-Control/dp/B00B2BSXS2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1498251510&sr=8-6&keywords=honeywell+portable+ac Having a hot exhaust duct inside the living space you're trying to cool is the most obvious downfall. I...

Re: Air Conditioning Options

Has anyone tried any of these AC units. It seems like that all get crap reviews I tried a portable household unit that has the exhaust ducting because I had an unused high vent that I thought would work well. It was horribly inefficient I boxed it up the same day and shipped it back to Amazon. Boug...

Re: Barehanded's '03 Ford E350 Wheeled Coach (Type III) Conversion

Yeah ultimately I'm glad to have it done. Now that I have the experience I'd just do it all myself in the future, but obviously that wasn't an option before I had the opportunity to learn. We had the numerous switches up front that resulted in the spaghetti you speak of! Now that the electrical is o...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2BSXS2/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_7?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER This was the route that I had intended to go with our AC off of the honda 2000. Was just going to make it a nice cabinet and utilize the old exhaust fan vent to exhaust the hot air. Which all ...

https://climateright.com/climateright-5000-btu-a-c-heater-2.html This is the one I will be using on my second build soon. Will also have 930w of solar to run it. I really like this option. Where were you thinking about mounting the external AC box? I'm thinking the same thing, can it go in an exter...

Re: How to *find your Ambulance

Mine was most recently owned by a smaller, rural fire department. I've _heard_ that FDs take better care of their rigs than private EMS companies. Not sure on the truth of it, but mine's in nice shape. Ours came from a Marine Corps Fire Department in Barstow, CA 700miles away. Come to find out my g...

The biggest issue I've ever had with steel and aluminum is when you've got an aluminum stem or seatpost in a steel bike frame for a long time w/ no regreasing. That bumper/hitch area probably won't have an issue for at least a couple hundred years! PLEASE let us know an approx. cost for the rewirin...
