Re: 97 Crestline's Slow camper build

Woah, I never thought about tucking the mirrors in like that. Did you swap them left to right? I need to fold mine in 90 degrees every time I back in the driveway... I've got extra, round mirrors, too, but they're smaller than those. Are the round mirrors big enough to see behind you without making ...

Re: Barehanded's '03 Ford E350 Wheeled Coach (Type III) Conversion

Well, glad you're happy with it now! My ambo was made by Horton, and has their "System 2000" circuitboard. Kinda cool/simple, but everything's controlled off the circuit board. So there's only an ethernet cable running from the front control panel to the circuitboard. But, that means if I ...

Re: How to *find your Ambulance

Mine was most recently owned by a smaller, rural fire department. I've _heard_ that FDs take better care of their rigs than private EMS companies. Not sure on the truth of it, but mine's in nice shape.

The biggest issue I've ever had with steel and aluminum is when you've got an aluminum stem or seatpost in a steel bike frame for a long time w/ no regreasing. That bumper/hitch area probably won't have an issue for at least a couple hundred years! PLEASE let us know an approx. cost for the rewiring...

This looks like a cool setup. Glad you're not building a leaning ambo tower! No one needs to unintentionally rollover test their ambo box...

Re: Ceiling fans - Maxx Fan or Fan-Tastic

I've got two round cut-outs in my ceiling. One is currently wired to a really loud fan. I was looking at these Ventline Vanair trailer vents as an easy replacement. I like that they pop up/down and are low-profile on top when closed. I could wire one up w/ reversed polarity to pull air in, and have ...

Re: Flat_Ernie New Project

I've "showered" in the footwell area of mine. It was really simple though... Just stood in a wash tub and poured some hot water from a jug. Still, it was great to be able to clean up after a big day of mountain biking. I only had a coleman lantern in the rig for some heat, so it was a quic...

Re: Reducing weight in the Sandbulance.

Wow, 4 batteries?! Mine just has the two in the compartment on the DS. It may have been a custom battery setup from order. I know some have the PS frame box, and I've got an empty tray under the hood. I've thought about adding more house batteries somewhere for a "house" setup.

Cool shelf! I need something like that. What's the hole on the drivers side for?

Currently I've just got a small crate between the seats. I like to be able to keep that area open to duck through to the back.
