Re: Hello from a Box Truck guy.

Hi Everyone, I have a 2008 F450 CC 4x4 box truck I did a conversion to an RV on. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/845/43175712721_c3c749ba9a_b.jpg I can repost the build thread over here if desired, but in the mean time its here for your reading https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/ski-bum-...

Re: Shore power to existing wiring inverter

Well, the only thing I can suggest at this point is to make sure everything is off and/or unplugged, pull the cover off of that breaker box, and start tracing wires.

Re: Shore power to existing wiring inverter

...This is the breaker box that is in the compartment with the rear Air conditioning. Anyone know what is for? I clicked it on and off and did not seem to turn anything on or off. Confused. ...and here it is with the right side up  That breaker box probably has a 20A and a 30A breaker in it, ...

Re: Shore power to existing wiring inverter

The problem I am having is that when I add a photo the site says it is too large. The dome lights have high and low off just one halogen light. I thought you said you had two bulbs in your ceiling lights. This is an example of what I'm talking about... Picture compliments of Bikersmurf. https://exp...

Re: Shore power to existing wiring inverter

Thanks for the info My battery bank consists of two batteries for the box and one for the engine. Are you suggesting running an entirely different battery bank to run Air conditioning etc off of shore power? Which I was thinking about doing anyway to avoid trying to splice into existing system. Any...

Re: Shore power to existing wiring inverter

Hey guys excited to be here! I am converting the ole Ambulance to an R V and need some help figuring out the wiring and such. I am trying to use the shore power to power the inside lights and outlets WITHOUT having to turn the key on. I will eventually probably run a rooftop , window unit or mini s...

Re: Checking out a Ambo by the road

Cool video! You are correct, that ambulance is just right for converting to an RV. I's completely intact, pretty good shape, and the engine runs, although I did see a small oil leak underneath at the bell housing. Price is about right, but I'd hit up the 'or best offer' option, and start around $6,5...

Re: New batts: Cross-wired or Parasitic drain?

If you have the polarity correct and are still getting large welder type arcing, I would check for a direct short between the positive cable(s) and ground somewhere. Parasitic drains are usually small current flow from things like flashlights and/or radio chargers, the defibrillator which I doubt yo...

Re: Patoz trailer

I just looked up Dexter Axles and they have 8 lug Light Duty versions starting at 5,500 lbs. up to 8,000 lbs., with a 3" or 3.5" diameter axle tube, so it could be anywhere in that range. The small diameter of the hub looks like their Nev-R-Lube Hub version, and that is what was throwing m...

Re: Patoz trailer

Actually they are 8 bolt, but the diameter of that hub is tiny compared to mine. http://forum.expeditionportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=259296&d=1418166133&thumb=1 http://forum.expeditionportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=259297&d=1418166219&thumb=1 Mine are 8 bolt also, b...
