Re: New batts: Cross-wired or Parasitic drain?

If you have the polarity correct and are still getting large welder type arcing, I would check for a direct short between the positive cable(s) and ground somewhere. Parasitic drains are usually small current flow from things like flashlights and/or radio chargers, the defibrillator which I doubt yo...

Re: Patoz trailer

I just looked up Dexter Axles and they have 8 lug Light Duty versions starting at 5,500 lbs. up to 8,000 lbs., with a 3" or 3.5" diameter axle tube, so it could be anywhere in that range. The small diameter of the hub looks like their Nev-R-Lube Hub version, and that is what was throwing m...

Re: Patoz trailer

Actually they are 8 bolt, but the diameter of that hub is tiny compared to mine. http://forum.expeditionportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=259296&d=1418166133&thumb=1 http://forum.expeditionportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=259297&d=1418166219&thumb=1 Mine are 8 bolt also, b...

Re: Patoz trailer

He did a nice job on it, but I would be concerned about that short tongue. Better for off-road but easy to jack knife when backing up. I also can't believe he went with single tires and wheels on that little axle either. That looks like a 3,500 lb. axle and I'm using a 10,000 lb. one with dual wheel...

Re: Help with Inverter/Charging Wiring Diagram

VERY GOOD POINT Pat, I had somehow missed that obvious fact now that you point it out DUH! SO if I understanding you (in my very limited electrical knowledge) the best option would then be NOT to mess with switching anything in wiring with inverter etc But adding a 110v light or two and wire direct...

A link to the 2005 NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Regulation on RV's. There are actually 3 later versions to supersede this one, But this is the newest freely available version I could find; http://hamyarenergy.com/static/fckimages/files/NFPA/Hamyar%20Energy%20NFPA%201192%20-%202005.pd...

Re: Help with Inverter/Charging Wiring Diagram

Mine was built by Southern Ambulance Co. I will try to follow the wires and see if I can tell where they go. I agree, I want everything to work from the ShorePower and the engine off. In addition, I would like to run some AC items directly from the ShorePower that will only work when the ShorePower...

Re: MRE -vs- kitchen install

MREs are great for this. I bought Survival Kits from both Wise Foods and Mountain House to test and keep just in case preparations. The Wise company packs were ok, some were good some sucked. But Mountain House brand were very good and will be my choice going forward. Easy to make by just pouring i...

I got an email this afternoon, and mine is on the way! That was pretty quick shipping if you ask me.
